Equity At The Table (EATT) is very much inspired by the aphorism that it’s better to “build a longer table, not a higher fence.” EATT is a practical and proactive response to the blatant gender and racial discrimination that plagues the food industry. EATT is an easy-to-navigate database for food industry professionals featuring only women/gender non-conforming folks and focusing primarily on POC and the LGBT community.
In the spirit of equity, as EATT begins we are looking to primarily feature POC and/or queer women/gender non-conforming individuals who work in the food industry. Please apply accordingly. If this isn’t you, please know we value your interest and hope you’ll support EATT by using it and sharing it (hire someone featured here! write to an editor and tell them how much you value EATT as a tool! Buy a book by an author or an ad on someone’s podcast! Follow EATT on Instagram! Donate on our Patreon Page if you can!
If you are a resource for a food professional (lawyer, television producer, etc.) and you are a straight, white woman, please do apply. Making yourself and your services available to the people featured on EATT is one of the most helpful things you can do to create more equity in our community.
To be part of EATT you must be a professional in any of the fields listed in our categories* and have a website or social media channel to link to, and submit a photo that represents you that you have permission to use.
*Don’t see your profession, location, or identification listed? Email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know. Like most things in life, we’re ever evolving.
To join, submit your name, email (which won’t be shared publicly), and website and/or public social media channel you wish to link to below and then check off what you do (no limit), where you are based, and how you wish to be identified.
EATT processes new members on a monthly basis and appreciates your patience. If it’s been more than one month since you submitted your form, please let us know at email@example.com.
There are no membership dues. Whether or not you are a member, if you’d like to support EATT financially (processing new members and hosting fees don’t grow on trees!), you can support us on our Patreon Page.
